I’ll be damned if this isn’t one of the best trap tunes I’ve heard to date. After Jay Danko sent me a preview last week I reached out to him for a bit of background info on the collaboration with R3.
“Although R3 and Danko have not met one another face to face, they’ve done a tricky thing; they have managed begin working on collaborations of professional quality without ever setting foot in the studio together. They prove that even with thousands of miles between the two, that good music can happen anywhere with the right effort.
Baltimore producer Jay Danko has a versatile musical background and does not let genre restrict his choices when creating music. Gifted with a good ear and a bad case of synesthesia, Danko breaks beats using a combination of Logic, Ableton and Reason. R3, or Robert Estrada (born October 1, 1993) is an unsigned producer from Compton, California.
Estrada started his career by buying his first guitar, and then went on to learning about beats, measures, and bars. He started experimenting with the MPC before finally switching to Logic Pro 9 in 2010.”
