Let me introduce myself. I’m Peter Richie from Scotland and I have been in the scene about a year and a half give or take in a two piece group called ‘Sub Sweepa’. To get things straight – I know Ziad stresses this – I will be posting a wide range of music besides Moombahton (mainly music associated with the current scene). I’m looking after British artists only right now, so if you have some new fire and want it posted on the blog send me an email; if it’s made in Britain and it’s well produced I will definitely consider sharing it.
For my first post I thought I would give appreciation to the people with British residency who have changed or are changing the scene for the better. Probably the most deserving person for a mention was the man, Dee Jay UMB. He has been in this scene for 3 years and is pretty much the Godfather of Moombahton for helping the scene change. Besides UMB there is Ginger Shinobi who is always offering a helping hand to new artists and he has put out two of the best compilations around – no spam intended. Second of all, if that doesn’t make you appreciate what some of these Brits have done then take a look at Will Bailey: he collaboratively (admittedly with an American) made one of the biggest tunes this year. Not just Will Bailey though; TRI:BAL, Essbeedee, Harikiri and Disgraceland are also making some of the most well produced sounds around.
As a tribute and a thanks to all the British Moombahtonistas I have given you 10 of the best tracks from Britain’s greatest Moombahton contributors and producers (not all moom moom, sorry). Every track here is free so no piracy is necessary.
