Body High is the label to look towards for inventive, creative and limitless electronic music in 2012. Run by LA’s Samo Sound Boy and Jerome Potter, 1/2 of the infamous LOL Boys, each new artist (many having never released music before) is carefully picked to embody what Body High is all about; being freeform and fresh.
Body High Crew
DJ Sliink: This man is HUGE. With frequent (free) Soundcloud downloads and one of the biggest EPs of the year Vibrate, he’s taking the Jersey Club-inspired scene by storm.
Myrryrs: With a very versatile EP on Body High, his percussion and low-end booms drive the album, but the clean and retro synths bring strong emotion on all the tracks. This is one of my favorite EPs of the year.
Floyd Campbell is the next release to come from Body High. His stuff dabbles in a weirder sonic territory, but weird is wonderful. Expect a full 110bpm write-up on the EP mid-June.
Jim-E Stack is a name that’s been tossed around for a while, but we are yet to receive an official Body High release from him yet. This young producer is the definitive model for Body High’s existence. He’s creating his own sound, making stuff that can’t be classified, and just needs a place where it can all fit in. That’s Body High in a nutshell. Today, he uploaded a new remix of Kirko Bangz “Drank In My Cup” which you can stream below. Also check out a few tracks from his first EP on Good Years, “Come Between”.
