So complete lack of posting yesterday… my apologies. I went to the Dillon Francis and Skrillex show on Friday, woke up at 3:30pm on Saturday, and hermitized on the couch for a few hours before going back to bed. The best part of the show by far was the no-name DJ before Dillon Francis playing “Que Que,” the Dillon Francis Remix of “Take It Back,” and “Brazzers Theme”. Really, dude? That’s like opening for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and playing your cover of “Californication.” Anyway, moral of the story: if the Mothership Afterparty Tour with Dillon Francis, Skrillex, and 12th Planet comes through your city you cancel whatever plans you have and you go to it.
I’ve got two producers from opposite sides of the globe for all of you today. The first is HighGradeMuzik from Zagreb who makes great globally-inspired moombahton. His tracks draw from tons of different styles and make for incredibly interesting listening. Be sure to check out his remix of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” too. The second producer is Robert DeLong, another amazingly talented producer from Echo Park, L.A (just like Mick). He doesn’t have much on his SoundCloud yet, but from the few tracks I’ve heard I can tell he’s going to be someone to look out for. If you’re on Twitter be sure to let me know what you think of these tracks or send me some of your own @110bpmblog.
