A few days ago I got an email from Kovary, a producer from Budapest telling me he had some tracks for me to hear that fell into a sub-genre of moombahton that was completely unheard of to me: Moombahdisco (Or Disocohton, whichever). I was a bit hesitant at first because I immediately thought of the french nu disco which can often be too airy and I was unsure of how that would work with the more classical moombahton sounds. What Kovary has done with these two tracks that makes them so outstanding is that he’s taken what he knows (disco and electro) and used the dutch house elements of moombahton to make something that’s not only fun to dance to, but also appeals to the nightclub scene where the audience is partial to house and electro. Anyway, that’s enough from me. Let’s get to the music, these are two must-listens.
Wide Open – Kovary
Until Dawn – Kovary
PS. If you liked these, Kovary has plenty of great tracks spanning various genres on his soundcloud.
