Diplo released his 2011 moombahton summer mix a few days ago and I’ve gotta say, it’s pretty good. He uses a lot grimier tracks then are usually associated with moombahton, but I think it works well to keep the energy up and keep things from getting repetitive. Listening to his mix got me thinking about how versatile a genre moombahton is and about how a very wide a range of sounds is possible. Much like how dubstep has luvstep, hushstep, fuckstep, big wobbles, and everything inbetween, moombahton runs the gamut from soul to hardcore and sounds great too.
For your listening pleasure I’ve got three very different tracks for you today:
Rolling Stone (Heartbreak Remix) – The Weeknd (Direct DL)
3. Classic (Hispanic)
